Recently, Puerto Rico government officials said that the lighting infrastructure in the territory will be fully intelligent upgrade, and this project will use the patent technology and solutions of Haina Tiancheng, with reference to the Tianjin Binhai New Area Yujiapu "double creation Special Zone" smart city model, to reduce urban energy consumption, improve public management level and reduce urban crime.

With an area of 9,104 square kilometers and a population of 3.41 million (2016), the autonomous State of Puerto Rico is located in the eastern part of the Greater Antilles in the Caribbean Sea and is vulnerable to hurricanes. Dozens of political and business elites, including former Puerto Rico Governor Louis and his wife, attended the launch ceremony and press conference of the project.

At the launch ceremony, Chang Jinyu, chairman of Haina Tiancheng Technology Co., LTD., said that with the help of the national "Belt and Road" initiative, Haina Tiancheng took the initiative to "go out" and actively participated in economic exchanges and cooperation in high-end technology, commerce, finance, infrastructure construction and other fields. Puerto Rico-Haina Tiancheng Smart City Technology Exhibition Center is the first Chinese smart city technology application project in North America, which has also kicked off Haina Tiancheng's expansion into the American market.
